HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL

I chose two epigraphs for Mirrorland: one from Alexandre Dumas’s The Count of Monte Cristo and one from Stephen King’s Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption.

The subtitle for Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption is “Hope Springs Eternal”. The very last line of The Count of Monte Cristo is “all human wisdom is contained in these two words, ‘Wait and Hope’.”

My hope is that Mirrorland gives you even a fraction of the joy—the hope—that those two stories gave me.
